This is an exciting opportunity to join the Education Alliance as Director of Maths at South Hunsley School and Sixth Form College, providing professional leadership and management for Maths, implementing strategies and interventions to narrow gaps, raise standards and support all students to excel in Mathematics.
South Hunsley is a proudly comprehensive and high performing school and, with around 2,200 students on roll, one of the largest schools in the country. Every day, we work with fantastic students and supportive families and are a proud member of The Education Alliance multi-academy trust.
The maths department at South Hunsley is a strong team and is consistently one of the highest performing departments in the region. Students achieve exceptional outcomes and as a result, Post-16 uptake is extremely high in maths courses such as A-Level Maths, A-Level Further Maths and Core Maths.
Here at South Hunsley we passionately believe in the limitless potential of every member of our school community. We want everyone to be happy, confident and successful so we can all achieve more than we think is possible. We can promise support, care, encouragement and respect as well as a really enjoyable and rewarding working and learning environment. We are genuinely committed to our students and our staff, and we do everything we can to ensure every child receives the care and guidance they need to thrive. We are proud of our school and would welcome the opportunity to give you a tour, so please don’t hesitate to contact Freya Dobson (HR Officer) on 01482 631208 or by email via Freya.Dobson@southhunsley.org.uk if you would like to visit or find out more.
We believe that for too long in many schools, staff have been asked to choose between being seen as good at their job and being a good mum, dad, partner, son, daughter or friend. We are doing everything we can to support our staff to balance the demands of their jobs and those at home.
We know that just seeking to reduce the number of tasks staff undertake will have little effect on improving work/home balance if this happens within a toxic culture. To support this, we offer training for our leaders to ensure they are able to translate our values into behaviours which are built on the principles of dignity, respect, professionalism and integrity. In our trust we have a strong team ethos, where we work together to support each other, and meet regularly. Our central team try, wherever possible, to do the heavy lifting for our schools, to ease pressures and to utilise the range of professions we employ in our trust.
Relocation assistance is available where appropriate.
