About The Hub School

We are a school offering specialist support for students with social, emotional and mental health needs. Our aim is to improve the life chances of young people for whom mainstream education has not so far been successful.

Find Out More

This is an exciting opportunity to join the team at The Hub School as a Cover Supervisor, playing a vital part in supporting students by ensuring they are provided with high quality teaching and learning, or targeted support when a member of staff is absent or unavailable. This will also involve the co-ordination of cover arrangements, including planned and unplanned absences, liaising with the Senior Leadership Team as required.

The working hours are from 08:30am to 16:00pm Monday to Friday during the school term.  You will also be paid for an additional 32.5 hours per year, to attend team meetings and training and development outside your normal working hours.  Your actual salary will be between £19,192 – £22,564 per annum depending on experience, and this will be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year so even when it is the summer holidays, you continue to receive the same payment that month.

If you are interested in working on a part time basis, please get in touch and we will be happy to explore this further with you.

Why choose us?

We offer specialist support for students with social, emotional and mental health needs and this is at the heart of everything we do.  We support our students to accelerate their academic, social and emotional skills development and ultimately enable them to re-engage with learning.  We have a strong, supportive and dedicated team who collectively work with their allocated off-site provision to ensure engagement in student learning. Our moto is ‘work hard and be nice to people’.  We are genuinely committed to our students and our staff, and we do everything we can to ensure every child receives the care and guidance they need to thrive. We are proud of our school and would welcome the opportunity to give you a tour, so please don’t hesitate to contact Kerry Mould via email if you would like to visit or find out more.

What can we offer you?

Ethical leadership, professional trust and autonomy and a caring ethos in which everyone is valued and respected.

A programme of training and development and opportunities to train to be a teacher with the Yorkshire Wolds Teacher Training should you be interested.

Family friendly policies and opportunities for flexible working.

Well-being support including discounted East Riding gym membership; free annual flu vaccinations; refund of the cost of the annual NHS prescription prepayment certificate; access to a free employee assistance scheme 24/7 with advice on a wide range of practical issues ranging from legal information and consumer issues to specialist counselling.

Financial incentives including a cycle to work scheme offering discounted bike purchase, affordable loans and savings available through the Salary Finance Scheme

Membership of the East Riding Pension Scheme with benefits including secure earnings linked pension and a lump sum death grant of three times your salary

What are we looking for?

We are looking for an individual who has a good standard of education including numeracy and literacy at GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent, demonstrable experience of working with young people in an educational setting and a good working knowledge of classroom management strategies.

The nature of the role requires cover across two sites within the East Riding of Yorkshire, therefore the ability to travel between sites in a timely manner is essential.

The Education Alliance is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.  Clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service is required prior to appointment and we undertake an online check, in line with the Keeping Children Safe in Education 2023 guidance.
