About The Hub School

We are a school offering specialist support for students with social, emotional and mental health needs. Our aim is to improve the life chances of young people for whom mainstream education has not so far been successful.

We are seeking to appoint a passionate and highly effective Learning Support Officer to start in September 2024, you will work within our team of staff providing for vulnerable young people.

The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers, providing students with agreed support to help create and maintain a purposeful and supportive learning environment, particularly helping students overcome barriers to learning, including social, emotional and mental health needs.

This position is available up to full time (within the context of the role) during the school term, however we are open to part – time or other flexible working options too. As part of your contractual arrangements, you will be paid for (up to) an additional 5 days per year to attend team meetings and training and development outside of your normal working hours.

The actual salary based on a full-time position will be £19,593.61 per annum, to be paid in 12 equal instalments over the year.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for an individual who is committed to ensuring every individual student receives the care, support and guidance they need to thrive and be the best they can be. The successful applicant will have a Level 2 (G.C.S.E Grade C/4 or equivalent) in Literacy and Numeracy, a good working knowledge and understanding of barriers to learning and previous experience of working with vulnerable children and/or young people in an educational environment.
