About The Hub School

We are a school offering specialist support for students with social, emotional and mental health needs. Our aim is to improve the life chances of young people for whom mainstream education has not so far been successful.

Find Out More

We are seeking to appoint a passionate and highly effective Careers Advisor to start in September 2024, who will work within our team of staff providing for vulnerable young people.

This is a newly created position at the school and the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the development, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of our careers offer to ensure it prepares and assists our students to assess their options and transition well into further education, training or employment.

The working hours are up to 22.5 hours per week (across three days) during term time.  You will also be paid for an additional 22.5 hours per year, which enables you to attend team meetings and training and development outside of your normal working hours.  This is a developmental role and the actual starting salary will be £15,826.13 per annum, rising upon completion of the level 6 apprenticeship standard.

Why choose us?

We offer specialist support for students with social, emotional and mental health needs and this sits at the centre of everything we do.

We are genuinely committed to our students and our staff and have a strong, supportive and dedicated staff team whose moto is ‘work hard and be nice to people’.

We are part of TEAL (The Education Alliance) Multi Academy Trust and together we share a common purpose:

“We are here to make great schools and happier, stronger communities so that people have better lives”

As well as a friendly and supportive environment, we offer a range of benefits including:

What are we looking for?

We are looking for an individual who is committed to ensuring every student receives the careers guidance they need to assess their options and make the best decisions they can for their future to ensure that they thrive and be the best they can be. The successful applicant will have a Level 4 qualification in a relevant subject area and be willing to undertake the Level 6 apprenticeship standard once in post, hold up to date knowledge of the National Careers Strategy and have demonstrable experience of implementing best practice in relation to careers and educational advice.

This role will involve working across both of our sites (Anlaby and Welton) and therefore a full driving licence or the ability to reliably travel between the two sites is essential.

How To Apply

A fully completed application form, which can be found in the supporting documents section, should be returned to recruitment@theeducationalliance.org.uk no later than 09:00am on 14 August 2024

We look forward to receiving your application and we will contact you once your application has been reviewed.
