School-Led Initial Teacher Training (SCITT)

Yorkshire Wolds Teacher Training is based at South Hunsley School and Sixth Form and offers school-led teacher training and the award Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) for trainee teachers. Trainees experience placements in a wide range of school-based settings working with outstanding practitioners.

During the year-long course, trainees will spend time, as a group, at South Hunsley School and 6th Form working with the school-led teacher training team and lecturers from the University of Hull, engage in our comprehensive ITT development sessions, covering pedagogy, practice and theory collectively through your school and university sessions. This includes a one-week induction to education programme at the beginning of the course and approximately one day a week throughout the year. All trainees will have full access to university resources and expertise, studying towards a Post Graduate Certificate in Education.
