My journey from Trainee Teacher

Teacher & PE Co-ordinator

I started at Hunsley Primary School in 2020 after an incredible year training to teach with YWTT. Throughout my years as an NQT and RQT, I had a lot of support from school-based mentors and the leadership team. These years continued to provide me with the support and confidence I needed to become a great teacher. In 2022, I was sent to the Humber Primary PE and Physical Activity Conference were I very quickly developed a love for sport and developed my understanding of its importance within education. I was privileged to be given the role of PE co-ordinator in my school, a role in which I hope to keep throughout my career as it allows me to create such wonderful links to our local community and exciting enrichment opportunities for our pupils. Last year, after 3 years of teaching, I was fortunate to obtain maternity cover for the Assistant Headteacher at Hunsley Primary. I cannot begin to explain how grateful I am for this opportunity and how much it helped to develop both my practice as a teacher and experience as a leader. I look forward to seeing how my career will continue to develop with the support and opportunities within TEAL.
