Hunsley Primary offers an exciting, challenging primary experience to each of our pupils and in every case, we aim to make sure what we teach to our children is relevant to their needs and their context, designed to enable all children to meet their full potential.
Our pupils study the full range of curriculum subjects and there are plenty of opportunities for creativity, pupil leadership and physical activities. Through our curriculum delivery, they learn what is means to be, for example, a historian or a physicist, and how really mastering a subject requires specific knowledge, skills and understanding built over time.
Our pupils develop those crucial skills and attributes required to succeed in life through the application of reflection, creative thinking and problem-solving, as well as being shown how to be caring, respectful and team-spirited – such important aspects of our school values and ethos. We feel that being part of Hunsley Primary encourages, stimulates and challenges our pupils, better preparing them for life in a rapidly developing world, whilst also making sure they have a really enjoyable, enriching and exciting primary experience.
We are lucky to have our home in a brand new building on Bluebird Way – a name that seemed rather apt for our school! The building offers a superb home for learning and a great base to explore the wider world around us. We are so grateful to our friends at South Hunsley for their hospitality and support when we first opened, and we are very pleased to keep such strong ties with our partner schools in the multi academy trust, The Education Alliance. Working as a team helps us all to thrive, which is something Hunsley Primary children know well. We are also partners in the Yorkshire Wolds Teacher Training group (YWTT), based in Melton, and work very closely with the Yorkshire Wolds Teaching School Alliance (YWTSA) and Associate Research School, with both partnerships creating an exciting environment for professional development and educational research that keeps us developing our professional practice and aiming for the very best provision for the children in our care.
We are so pleased to know you are interested in Hunsley Primary. Perhaps you are thinking about applying for a school place or a staff role in our school – to us, the team includes everyone involved in the school and we know one of our great strengths is that which comes from an enthusiastic group all working together towards the same aims.
