believe • grow • achieve
Our school is at the heart of our community. We take children from pre-school age, the year before they start school officially, and aim to nurture them throughout their time here. The school enjoys, and benefits from, an extremely close relationship with our local Church, St. John the Baptist; our village nursery and childminders and the Diocese of York. This relationship gives the school a uniquely distinctive character and provides excellent support.
We strive to ensure that pupils at Wilberfoss Primary School are happy and confident individuals who demonstrate the Christian Values during their time in school and within the community – indeed one of our overarching aims is to ‘Grow good people who can make a difference in school, the wider community and the world’.
We use these values to support our teaching of the fundamental British Values and extend these to encompass equality, justice, responsibility, love and respect. We create a safe and secure environment where all can believe, dare to try new things and persevere when challenges arise.
We are fortunate to have a positive and fulfilling partnership with children, parents, teachers and all others working within and alongside the school. When we recently renewed our school vision and values, our community strongly felt we should teach our children to be thankful and to offer support to local, national and global charities and this is something we strive to achieve.
